Miami

Last weekend Joseph and I went to Miami and had a great time. I can't tell you the last time we went somewhere just the two of us. Last summer we went to Chicago with friends, last winter we went to New York, with friends and we always go with the kids to the beach, so it has been a while and I really enjoyed it :) The night before we left, we attended a banquet at The Club honoring Joseph who was nominated for Young Engineer of the Year. He did not win, because he actually has a life and is not nerdy enough :) (LOL) at least that's my take on why he did not win. I am very proud of him and he was very honored to be nominated :)

We left bright and early Friday morning and once we landed, we got our rental car, which did not excite Joseph; a Chrysler 300...

He dropped me off at the mall while he went to inspect his job. I enjoyed taking my time shopping all alone :) We then checked into our hotel and went to dinner and then walked around South Beach. Saturday I really wanted to take a boat tour of celebrity homes. We saw UNBELIEVEABLE homes. The lots started at $6 million and the homes averaged around $25 MILLION! A few were Rosie O'Donnell, Michelle Phifer, Shaq, P.Diddy, Vanilla Ice (before he lost it), Gloria Estefan, Oprah, Tom Cruise and many others. This one was my favorite and the biggest one there. It was the home of Dr. Frost who invented Viagra.

After the boat ride, we went to the biggest mall I have seen in my life. Just to give you a sample of how big it was a few of their anchor stores were...Bass Pro Shops, Home Goods, Burlington, Ross, Macys and every other store you can think of :) It was a nice little getaway.

Last, but not least. Joseph flys somewhere ALL the time and I had no idea how it would pay off for me :) He is Gold status on everything from Sky Miles, to Hotels, to Rental Cars...therefore we had a free plane ticket, free breakfast at the hotel, which was $50 a day, free rental car upgrade, if you consider a chrysler an upgrade :) we got to skip the long line in airport security, first to board the plane. I could keep going, but can't remember everything. So, next time I want to complain about him being gone, (which he will every week this month) I will remember the "perks" next time I go somewhere with him!

  1. Looks like Miami is fun. Maybe if I ever leave my kids and go somewhere I will think about going there!
