Sickness and Shower

The saga continues at the Davis house. Now Bentley is sick with Bronchialitis (sp?) I took her to After Hours yesterday because she woke up Friday afternoon at 4:45 with a fever, just in time for the pediatrician to close. I called that afternoon and they told me it was about a 3 hour wait, so I told them I would just bring her in the next morning. We were the first ones there (So Nice) and they did a chest x-ray and a breathing treatment and sent us home with albuteral. Hopefully, she will stop wheezing soon. Her fever was gone this morning, but now its back. I HATE when my babies are sick. Look at this sweet, sick face.

Friday night Me, Marsha, and Kristi went to eat then to see Bride Wars, which I loved. Saturday we helped host a baby shower for Chris and Kristin. They had a great turnout and we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately Joseph could not make it, he stayed home with Bentley. Trisha and Jay did not come either because Cash had a stomach virus. We missed them and Jennifer so bad. They got lots of good stuff in preparation for sweet little Jackson who I can't wait to meet. Here are a couple pictures from the shower.

Hostesses Minus Jen and Trisha :(

The Future Mommy and Daddy

One more thing. I took the kids to get shoes the other day and Bentley's feet are so fat and she cant wear keds. They are really thick, so they just dont fit well. Any other suggestions for a little tennis shoe for a girl (nothing like nike or new balance) I found a not so cute pair at Stride Rite that I got her. They will just have to do for the time being until I find something else. I would appreciate any ideas for a little girl with chubby feet :) Also, she wears a size 5 1/2 and all of her shoes are a 4. I told the lady that is too bad because she is going to keep wearing the 4 until Spring. I know I'm mean, but I spent way too much money on them for her to not wear them. They all look brand new. Guess I will sell them on ebay :)

Weekend Recap

Well, Joseph survived the "snip" and did very well. In fact so well, that he repainted the den last night and finished. He said it was not bad at all. Friday night I went to dinner with some ladies from my street and we had a great time. We went to New Orleans Food and Spirits in Vestavia and it was WONDERFUL! Saturday morning we went to Marlee Grace's 4th birthday party at Jump Zone. Later that afternoon Ginger and I went shopping and then her, Travis and the kids came over for dinner and the kids played while we arranged two floral arrangements for my den. We were planning on moving, but since the market is so bad right now, we decided to hang tight for a couple more years. Instead, we are doing alot of redecorating. Painting, new window treatments, rugs, furniture, ect. The biggest change will be downstairs in the basement. I have never really decorated down here, so we are making the office a tv room and leaving the other room as a den. Now, I just have to find the time to do all of it :) To finish out the weekend, Carter woke up around 3:00 a.m. Sunday with a fever of 102 and throwing up. Took him to the Dr. and he has strep. He is still running a fever, so no school again tomorrow. Pray that he gets better soon and that Bentley doesn't get anything. She is starting to get a runny nose :( I will leave you all with what my dear friend Marsha left on our mailbox Thursday for Joseph.

Complete and Making It Final

As of this afternoon, it will be official that I will never look like this again. There is a part of me that is sad about this, but most of me feels truly complete with a healthy boy and a healthy girl. What more could I want? I actually knew I was finished the day I brought Bentley home. That could have been one of the worst days. Carter was HORRIBLE!!! He was beyond jealous and had not seen me very much, then we bring home a baby who nursed every 2 hours and needed my undivided attention. I say for about the first 2 months I was miserable. After that we got into a routine and life was grand again.

Joseph is having a vasectomy and is a little nervous and I am trying VERY hard to be sympathetic. However, after being pregnant for a total of 18 months, sick as a dog, birthing 2 babies, bleeding for over 8 weeks with both of them and exclusively nursing Carter for a year and Bentley for 7 months, I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for him :) (LOL) On a lighter note, Joseph has aclip from Family Guy on his blog about a vasectomy and it is too funny!

Bentley's Favorite Place

Miss Priss has learned how to open the dishwasher and now climbs in there at least 10

times a day. Unlike little boys, girls are very quiet and sneaky when they do things. So, I never see her doing it, I just hear her sqealing with delight.

Sticky Situation

This is what my precious baby decided she would do while I folded laundry today. I guess she pulled them out of the pantry and went to town. Most of them had been licked, therefore were stuck to the rug and floor. I couldn't resist a picture, because she was so proud of what she had done :)

This morning on the way to school I said to Carter, let's practice saying your address. He gets confused with all the numbers, but he said the street and city (don't want to post my address:)
For the state he said, Roll Tide. I started cracking up. He got mad at me for laughing, but it was too fuuny because he was so serious. He said, I dont say Alabama, just Roll Tide!

Why I Love a 3 year old

Carter is already looking through books and telling me what he wants for Christmas. When I tell him that's a long time from now, he gets FURIOUS! He also had a meltdown yesterday because he told me he wanted a REAL garbage truck. He has 4 play ones, but told me he wants one to stay at our house in the driveway. Ummm...Sorry buddy, no can do :)

I booked his 4 year old birthday party and it made me sad. Why do they have to grow up so fast? It was a HUGE debate between Pump it Up and Jump Zone, but in the end Jump Zone won because they have a Batman Slide :) It's the little things that mean so much.

Last but not least, this is how he dressed himself this morning. Of course I made him change, from head to toe. We are on our way to register for Baseball and he is THRILLED :)

A New Beginning

Well its a new year and a new year should bring change, so I am starting a blog. I know what you are thinking, but you have a website. yes, that is true: www.davis.aboutmybaby.com however, that is about the kids and what they do, but this will be about me and what I am thinking. LOL...yeah right I'm sure there will be plenty about Joseph and the kids, but what can I say, they are my life :) I am excited about the blog, because now I can share my thoughts and opinions with everyone. Even though I have NO time for this, I am excited about it. So here goes my first post and what's on my mind.....

If you still have up your Christmas decorations, PLEASE take them down NOW! This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I do not understand how people can still have them up. Why is it that its always the tackiest ones that are still up 2 weeks after Christmas? It's bad enough to still have them up, but even worse to plug them up and still blow up those yard decorations. I took mine down the next morning. I realize that is very early, but I am extremely anal and needed everything back to normal. I wanted to take them down Christmas night, but husband told me I was a scrooge and to let the kids enjoy them. Ok, that feels nice to get that off my chest...LOL!
